This is gonna be hard

As of, well, right now, I'm giving up soft drinks for at least two weeks. It's been brought to my attention that diet soft drinks, which are all I drink, can promote premature insulin release, which then grabs onto whatever blood sugar is available in the bloodstream and turns it into -- tra la -- fat.

I probably go through a two-liter bottle every 2-3 days. I have no idea if that's considered a lot (it probably is, with my luck), but for now it's got to go.

*sob* I'll miss you, Diet Coke with Lime...

Saturday's total mileage: 1.25 miles. 499.51 miles to Isengard.

Hey Lady, It is hard, But like Walt, i went on a no soda kick quite awhile ago, He's at 7 months and I'm at 4. I originally started to be supportive of another person who didn't make it. But what helps my cause it that 90% of people cannot tell the difference between being thirsty and hungry. Diet sodas have a chemical that make you thirsty, but 90% of us eat instead. At least that's what I heard on Oprah. I still get a craving now and again, but iced tea is good :)

Good luck!

I stopped craving at around 3 months. Now I want soda, but I'm trying to stay away from it as long as possible. It's a contest with myself I'm having. I do have dreams about drinking soda all the time. had one two night ago, in fact.

My original goal was to make it two weeks, then a month, then two, then 100 days.... I'm over 200 days and counting.....

Well, I'm on Day Two, and I keep wanting to take a nap on my keyboard from the lack of caffeine, but at least my kidneys are getting one hell of a workout from all the water I'm swilling.
